Breaking the Ice is a quest for Elsa in which you will upgrade your Pickaxe, and begin to unravel a mystery surrounding the wall mural inside the Ice Cavern.

Breaking the Ice Walkthrough
Speak to Elsa who explains that she is acclimatizing to her new surroundings in the valley. Follow her to the Ice Cavern in the Forest of Valor and speak with her upon arrival. You discuss the fact that neither of you is able to break the large ice shards but raise the possibility of upgrading your Pickaxe. You'll need the following materials to do so:
2 Sugarcane (Purchasable at the Goofy Stall on Dazzle Beach)
- 3 Garlic - Available in Forest of Valor

With those materials collected, head to a Crafting Station and create the Warmth of Summer Potion.
Return to Elsa and give her the potion. She'll apply the potion to your Pickaxe, allowing you to destroy Ice Shards throughout the valley. Return to the Ice Cavern in the Forest of Valor, clear the entryway, and then head inside.
Pickaxe the 4 Ice Blocks inside the cavern, then speak to Elsa when she approaches the dropoff. She'll create an Ice Bridge over the gap, allowing you to continue clearing the path. Pick up the Blue Crest from the ground, and show it to Elsa.
She'll tell you to insert it into the mural on the wall, and then you'll need to speak to Elsa again. Though the mural is incomplete, Elsa thanks you and the quest concludes!
